Assistant Manager Legal

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing the company's Legal and compliance matters.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Provide strong contractual, legal and regulatory support for all activities of the Company.
  • Responsible to structure, draft, review, negotiate, execute and file agreements efficiently.
  • Good working knowledge of Labor Laws & Commercial Laws.
  • End to end management and coordination of all types of disputes (civil or criminal), will be required to coordinate with law enforcement & statutory authorities.
  • Responsible to prepare, review and implement policies & processes. You will also need to regularly update internal processes for efficient operations of the Company and Legal Team
  • Work with business leadership, compliance committee and multi-disciplinary teams including in HR, Finance, CELA and other stakeholders to analyze compliance and related legal risks, resolve issues, and implement overall business strategy
  • Contributing to building a culture of ethics & integrity in Vehere India’s entities, including through driving learning sessions through case studies in senior leadership board and other relevant business managers groups, or company-wide forums, various ethical culture programs designed at headquarters or locally, training sessions etc
  • Assist business team members with responding to, and negotiating with, third parties in finalizing commercial agreements and leases
  • Strong experience in dealing with compliance and/or internal investigations
  • Work closely with business teams to address risks, disputes, claims and liability profiles of the Company

Skills and Experience:

  • A law degree from a reputed law school with 7- 10 years of total experience
  • Should have good knowledge of IP Laws
  • Minimum 2 year’s experience in independently managing a function and minimum 4 years’ experience in interacting with customers or stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge in commercial law with an emphasis on IT-related matters
  • Liasoning skills with govt. offices, local bodies, police stations would be an added advantage
  • Able to think critically about the organization’s business objectives during contract drafting; able to assist in follow up negotiations on contract and commercial issues
  • Outstanding analytical and writing ability, with a keen sense of dealing with the business data and the details of a matter
  • Ability to understand technology
