Sr. Software Engineer (Build)

Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Build) to design, optimize, and maintain robust build and CI/CD pipelines that support large-scale software development efforts. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in scripting, automation, and managing Jenkins-based build systems to ensure smooth, scalable, and reliable delivery pipelines across multiple teams.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient and scalable Jenkins build pipelines
  • Write and optimise Python and Shell scripts to automate build and deployment processes
  • Manage and distribute workload across multiple build pipelines for maximum efficiency
  • Develop and maintain Groovy scripts within Jenkins for custom build flows
  • Analyse and resolve bottlenecks and issues in the existing build systems
  • Identify gaps in the build infrastructure and define mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure build reliability and performance
  • Ensure CI/CD processes are secure, efficient, and aligned with engineering best practices
  • Provide documentation and guidance on build processes for internal teams
  • Adhere to high-quality work standards
  • Responsible for maintaining the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of Vehere’s information assets, including business-critical information.
Skills and Experience:
  • B.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in build engineering or DevOps roles
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in Python and Shell
  • Hands-on experience with the Jenkins build platform and pipeline configuration
  • Solid understanding of Groovy scripting in Jenkins pipelines
  • In-depth knowledge of build pipeline architecture and load distribution techniques
  • Proven experience in identifying and mitigating gaps in build systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
